The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is a healthcare initiative by the Government of India, providing comprehensive medical services to eligible central government employees, pensioners, and their dependents.

What is CGHS Empanelment?

CGHS empanelment refers to the process by which private hospitals, diagnostic centers, and clinics are authorized to offer medical services to CGHS beneficiaries at predetermined rates. Empaneled healthcare organizations must meet specific quality standards and agree to the terms set by CGHS. This ensures that beneficiaries receive standardized and quality healthcare services across various facilities. The empanelment process is managed through an online portal, streamlining applications and assessments.

Benefits for Patients

Patients enrolled under CGHS enjoy several advantages:

  • Comprehensive Coverage: Access to a wide range of medical services, including outpatient care, hospitalization, and specialized treatments.

  • Cashless Treatment: Beneficiaries can avail of cashless services at empaneled facilities, reducing out-of-pocket expenses.

  • Standardized Rates: Medical services are provided at pre-determined rates, ensuring affordability.

  • Quality Assurance: Empaneled hospitals and centers are regularly assessed to maintain high standards of care.

Ease of Access: With a vast network of empaneled facilities across various cities, beneficiaries have convenient access to healthcare services.
